Composition:
Tirzepatide 2.5 mg per dose.
Excipients: solution for injection.
Properties of the Product:
Dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist.
Improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Supports weight reduction and metabolic health.
Indications for Use:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, as monotherapy or in combination with other antihyperglycemic agents.
Investigated for obesity management.
Method of Administration and Dosage:
Subcutaneous injection, once weekly.
Starting dose: 2.5 mg per week, with gradual escalation to 5-15 mg depending on tolerance and clinical response.
Injection sites: abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to tirzepatide or excipients.
Personal/family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma.
Patients with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.
Precautions:
Risk of thyroid tumors.
Monitor for pancreatitis symptoms.
Not recommended in type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
May delay absorption of oral medications.
Adverse Reactions/Side Effects:
Common: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, constipation.
Serious: pancreatitis, hypoglycemia (with insulin/sulfonylureas), hypersensitivity reactions, thyroid tumors (rare).
Pregnancy and Lactation:
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to limited data.
Should only be used under medical supervision if benefits outweigh risks.
Storage Conditions:
Store refrigerated at 2-8°C.
May be kept at room temperature (≤30°C) for up to 21 days.
