Composition: pioglitazone – 30 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Pioglitazone is used to treat type 2 diabetes, both alone and in combination with other drugs, as well as with a healthy diet and exercise, in the following cases:
Other drugs, such as metformin and sulfonylureas, do not lower blood sugar levels or there are contraindications to their use.
Severe insulin resistance.
Recurrent hypoglycemia when taking other drugs.
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or steatohepatitis.
Method of administration and dosage:
Standard dosage:
Orally, 1 time per day, regardless of food intake.
Usually the initial dose is:
15 or 30 mg 1 time per day.
Can be increased to 45 mg / day depending on the patient’s response.
Combination therapy:
Can be used in combination with metformin, sulfonylurea derivatives or insulin.
