Composition (per 1 tablet):
Sitagliptin phosphate – 50 mg, metformin hydrochloride – 1000 mg. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, povidone, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, film coating.
Description:
Gleptomet is a combination antihyperglycemic drug used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains sitagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor) that increases incretin levels and stimulates insulin secretion, and metformin, which reduces hepatic glucose production and improves tissue glucose uptake.
Properties:
Lowers blood glucose through a dual mechanism of action.
Enhances insulin secretion in response to food intake.
Reduces glucose production in the liver and improves glucose utilization by tissues.
Helps manage body weight and reduces the risk of diabetes complications.
Suitable for long-term management of type 2 diabetes.
Indications for Use:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and monotherapy with metformin or sitagliptin are insufficient.
As part of combination therapy for better glycemic control.
Method of Application:
Adults: 1 tablet once daily during meals with sufficient water.
Do not chew or split the tablet.
Dosage should be adjusted individually based on blood glucose levels and concomitant therapy.
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible but do not double the next dose.
Storage Conditions:
Store at +5°C…+25°C, in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.
