Performa Extra Strength 5% Lotion for men & women 60 ml

Compound:

Minoxidil 5%

Indications:

Treatment of androgenetic alopecia in men and women.

The time of onset of hair growth and the percentage of recovery may vary from patient to patient. Although the trend suggests that those users who are younger, have recently begun to go bald, or have a small area of baldness on the top of their head, are more likely to get better results. Individual reactions are possible.

Dosage and method of application:

For men and women aged 18-65.

Before topical application of Performa 5% lotion, the hair and scalp must be thoroughly dried.

Apply the drug in an amount of 1 ml to all affected areas of the scalp twice a day. The total daily dosage should not exceed 2 ml. If fingertips are used to facilitate the application of the drug, then hands should be washed thoroughly.

It may take up to 2 months of regular twice daily use before signs of hair growth appear.

If the hair has begun to grow back, continue to apply the product twice a day to stimulate growth.

There is evidence that regrowth of hair may disappear three to four months after discontinuation of the application, and the process of baldness will continue.

You should stop using the lotion if there is no improvement after a year of use.

The spray bottle is convenient for use on large areas. Aim at the center of the bald area, press once and spread with your fingertips over the entire surface. Repeat a total of 6 times to apply 1 ml. Do not inhale spray.

Not recommended for use by children and the elderly. The efficacy and safety of the drug for people under 18 years of age and over 65 years of age has not been proven.

Contraindications:

Performa 5% Minoxidil

– persons with intolerance to minoxidil, ethanol or propylene glycol

– patients with hypertension

– with injuries and diseases of the scalp, including psoriasis and sunburn

– Do not use in combination with dressings and other topical treatments.

Before using, you need to make sure that the scalp is healthy.

Minoxidil is indicated not only for the treatment of alopecia, but also for other types of hair loss. For example, if there is no family history of baldness, the hair loss is patchy. You should stop using the lotion and consult a doctor if hypotension, rashes, swelling of the hands or feet, or redness is found.

Patients with cardiovascular disease or cardiac arrhythmia should consult a physician before use, the lotion is for external use only. Do not apply to any part of the body other than the scalp. The drug is not intended for the treatment of baldness in the frontal areas or in the area of the anterior border of hair growth. It is not recommended to use a 5% solution of minoxidil in men if androgenetic alopecia is hereditary or focal. After applying the product, wash your hands thoroughly. Avoid inhalation of vapors of the drug when spraying.

Contains ethanol (alcohol), may cause burning and irritation if it gets into the eyes. In case of accidental contact with sensitive surfaces (eyes, damaged skin and mucous membranes), the area should be washed with plenty of cool running water.

Some patients experience changes in hair color and / or structure when using the product. Some users report an increase in hair loss since the start of treatment, which is most likely due to the action of minoxidil, when the resting phase is followed by the active growth phase (old hair falls out as new hair grows in its place).

This temporary increase in hair loss usually occurs within 2-6 weeks of use and begins to subside within a few weeks. If the tendency of falling out is observed for more than 2 weeks, you need to stop using and consult a doctor. It must be taken into account that, although there have been no cases of minoxidil overdose when following the instructions for use, greater absorption due to improper use, individual body reaction, hypersensitivity to the drug, or a decrease in the integrity of the epidermal barrier caused by inflammation or disease processes in the skin can lead to , at least theoretically, to various complications.

Accidental ingestion can cause serious heart-related side effects.

Interaction with other drugs:

Topical medications such as corticosteroids, tretinoin, dithranol, or petrolatum, which, when taken together, may increase the absorption of minoxidil.

There are no special recommendations for use in renal failure and liver dysfunction.

Pregnancy and lactation period:

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.

Animal studies have shown a risk to the fetus. The potential risk to humans is unknown. Systemically absorbed minoxidil is excreted in breast milk.

Performa lotion should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Impact on driving:

Does not affect the ability to drive a car or operate machinery.

Side effects:

In placebo-controlled studies, the overall incidence of adverse events was higher in women than in men.

Immune system disorders, hypersensitivity reactions including facial swelling, erythema, itching, and throat discomfort.

Overdose:

Accidental or intentional overdose of topical minoxidil will result in an increase in adverse dermatological reactions, especially itching, dry skin, irritation and eczema. Also, systemic absorption will increase, which will increase the likelihood of systemic disorders.

Patients with a history of cardiovascular disease or any type of cardiopathy should be especially careful due to the possibility of systemic effects. If systemic side effects occur (retrosternal pain, palpitations, dizziness, decrease in blood pressure, a sudden increase in body weight, swelling of the arms and / or legs), as well as redness and irritation at the site of rubbing, the drug should be discontinued and, if necessary, appropriate therapy should be prescribed.

In patients with dermatoses of the scalp, transdermal absorption of the drug substance is possible, so it is necessary to exclude dermatosis before starting the use of the drug. Since the product contains propylene glycol, it may cause skin irritation. Several cases of contact dermatitis are known to be associated with propylene glycol, which is the vehicle in this product.

Although systemic absorption of minoxidil has not been reported, this cannot be ruled out, so regular monitoring of blood pressure, pulse rate, and regular monitoring for edema is recommended.

The drug is approved for use as a means of OTC.

Storage conditions:

Store the drug at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children.
