Composition:
Each tablet contains levothyroxine sodium 100 micrograms.
Product Description:
Euthyrox is a synthetic form of thyroxine (T4), a thyroid hormone.
It restores normal thyroid hormone levels in patients with hypothyroidism and helps suppress TSH in thyroid cancer management.
It is not indicated for weight loss or obesity treatment.
Indications for Use:
Replacement therapy in primary, secondary, or tertiary hypothyroidism (congenital or acquired).
Adjunct therapy for TSH suppression in thyrotropin-dependent well-differentiated thyroid cancer.
Method of Administration and Dosage:
Administer orally once daily on an empty stomach, 30-60 minutes before breakfast.
Dose individualized based on age, weight, cardiovascular status, and laboratory results (TSH, T4).
Peak therapeutic effect may take 4-6 weeks.
Contraindications:
Uncorrected adrenal insufficiency.
Hypersensitivity to levothyroxine or excipients.
Not for obesity or weight loss treatment.
Precautions:
Use cautiously in elderly patients and those with cardiovascular disease.
Monitor for overtreatment (tachycardia, arrhythmias, angina).
Drug interactions: iron, calcium, soy, antacids, and certain medications can reduce absorption.
Adverse Reactions / Side Effects:
Symptoms of hyperthyroidism if overdosed: palpitations, insomnia, tremors, weight loss.
Rare: allergic reactions to excipients.
Pregnancy and Lactation:
Pregnancy: Safe and essential for hypothyroidism management.

Lactation: Levothyroxine is excreted in breast milk in minimal amounts; considered safe.
