X-Tension 300 mg – Irbesartan Tablets for Hypertension
X-Tension 300 mg contains irbesartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It is used to lower blood pressure and protect the kidneys in patients with type 2 diabetes.
How It Works
Irbesartan blocks the effects of the hormone angiotensin II, relaxing blood vessels. This lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow to the heart and kidneys.
Indications
• Chronic hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Acute coronary syndromes (including unstable angina and non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction)
• Proteinuria in chronic kidney disease
Dosage Guidelines
• Adults: Usually 150 mg once daily; may be increased to 300 mg if needed.
• Children (6+ years): 75–150 mg daily; adolescents may take up to 300 mg daily.

Possible Side Effects

Precautions
