Each 100 ml of syrup contains:
Chlorpheniramine maleate 50 mg
Phenylephrine hydrochloride 100 mg
Auxiliary components:
Citric acid, disodium edetate, methylparaben, propylparaben, propylene glycol, sodium metabisulfite, sodium citrate, sorbitol, carmoisine, strawberry flavor, sucrose, purified water.
Properties:
A combination drug that has analgesic, vasoconstrictor and antihistamine effects, eliminates cold symptoms. Phenylephrine is an alpha-adrenergic agonist with moderate vasoconstrictor action. Chlorphenamine is an H1-histamine receptor blocker. It narrows the blood vessels in the nose, eliminates swelling and hyperemia of the mucous membrane of the nose, nasopharynx and paranasal sinuses; reduces exudative manifestations, suppresses the symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
Indications:
Short-term symptomatic treatment of colds, rhinitis, nasopharyngitis and flu-like conditions in adults and children, accompanied by rhinosinusitis, laryngitis, nasal congestion, runny nose, including allergic etiology, otitis.
Method of administration and dosage:
Children 2-6 years: 1/2 teaspoon 3 times daily.
Children 6-12 years: 1 teaspoon 3 times a day.
Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoons 3 times daily.
Contraindications:
• hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
• cardiovascular diseases (severe forms of coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, aortic stenosis, severe atherosclerosis, heart rhythm disturbances, decompensated heart failure, uncontrolled arterial hypertension);
• severe renal and/or hepatic impairment;
• deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
• alcoholism, epilepsy;
• pheochromocytoma;
• diabetes mellitus;
• angle-closure glaucoma;
• hypertrophy of the prostate gland with urinary retention;
• diseases of the blood system, severe leukopenia, anemia;
• bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases;
• children under 2 years of age;
• pregnancy, breastfeeding period.
Precautions:
If the symptoms of the disease do not go away within 5 days, you should consult a doctor. During the treatment period, it is necessary to refrain from drinking ethanol (hepatotoxic effects may develop).
Side effects:
Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, urticaria, angioedema.
