Properties:
Selgon, pipazetate hydrochloride, is a cough suppressant that acts on the central cough center to relieve unproductive irritating coughs within 10 to 30 minutes and lasts for 4 to 6 hours. The advantage of Selgon is that it is non-addictive.
Indications:
Irritating non-productive cough, such as smoker’s cough, whooping cough, residual cough.
Method of administration and dosage:
Children over 12 years old and adults:
1-2 tablets 3 times a day.
Contraindications:
Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Children under 12 years of age.
Patients with sugar intolerance.
Precautions:
For severe irritating cough, the dose may be doubled if necessary.
Side effects:
Selgon sometimes causes drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, insomnia, or hives.
Storage method:
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30 degrees.
