Compound:
Each 5 ml of syrup contains:
Dry extract of ivy leaves 35 mg.
Excipients:
Potassium sorbate, ethanol.
The syrup does not contain sugar.
Properties:
An expectorant of plant origin. It has an expectorant, mucolytic and antispasmodic effect due to the presence of saponins.
Indications:
It is used as an expectorant in the complex therapy of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough with difficult to separate sputum.
Method of administration and dosage:
Children 2 to 5 years: 2.5 ml 3 times a day. Children 5 to 12 years: 5 ml 3 times a day.
Adults: 10 ml 3 times daily.
Contraindications:
Age under 2 years.
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Precautions:
It is not recommended to use it together with cough suppressants (codeine, dextromethorphan, etc.) without a doctor’s prescription.
Not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.
Use with caution in patients with gastritis and stomach ulcers.
The drug contains ethanol, so it is not recommended for use longer than 1 week. It is necessary to observe a 4-hour interval between doses of the drug.
When prescribing large doses of the drug, a laxative effect is possible, since the syrup contains sorbitol.
Side effects:
Allergic reactions (urticaria, rash, dyspnea). From the gastrointestinal tract – nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Storage method:
At a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees.
