1 ml of solution contains:
Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.05 mg.
Properties:
A vasoconstrictor for local use in ENT practice. When applied to mucous membranes, it causes vasoconstriction, resulting in a decrease in local hyperemia and edema. In rhinitis, it facilitates nasal breathing. The effect occurs within a few minutes after use and lasts for several hours. Rinex is well tolerated by patients with sensitive nasal mucosa, without causing disruption of its epithelial functions.
Indications:
Treatment of nasal congestion, chronic, year-round and seasonal allergic rhinitis (including hay fever), sinusitis.
Method of administration and dosage:
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 2-3 drops in each nostril 2-3 times a day.
Contraindications:
– Closed-angle glaucoma.
– Atrophic rhinitis
– Arterial hypertension.
– Tachycardia.
– Severe atherosclerosis.
– Hyperthyroidism.
– Surgical interventions on the meninges (in history).
– Hypersensitivity to xylometazoline.
– Children under 12 years of age.
Precautions:
Without a doctor’s prescription, continuous use of the drug for more than 7 days in adult patients and no more than 5 days in children is not recommended to avoid mucosal atrophy and the development of “rebound” syndrome.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding:
Category C. The drug should not be used during pregnancy.
During lactation, the use of the drug is possible only under the supervision of a physician.
Side effects:
With frequent and/or prolonged use: irritation of the mucous membrane, burning, tingling, sneezing, dryness of the nasal mucosa, hypersecretion.
Rare : swelling of the nasal mucosa (more common with prolonged use), palpitations, heart rhythm disturbances, increased blood pressure, headache, vomiting, sleep disorders, visual impairment.
Storage method:
Keep out of reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees.
