Each 1 ml of solution contains:
Lomefloxacin 3 mg
Auxiliary components:
glycerol (distilled glycerin), disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.
Properties:
A broad-spectrum antimicrobial bactericidal drug from the fluoroquinolone group (a subgroup of difluoroquinolones). It affects the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase, which ensures supercoiling, forms a complex with its tetramer (subunits of gyrase A2B2) and disrupts DNA transcription and replication, leading to the death of the microbial cell. It has a bactericidal effect.
Beta-lactamases produced by pathogens do not affect the activity of lomefloxacin.
Indications:
Bacterial infections of the anterior segment of the eye (conjunctivitis, blepharitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, including chlamydial etiology).
Method of administration and dosage:
Adults are prescribed 1 drop 2-3 times a day in the lower conjunctival sac for 7-9 days. At the beginning of treatment, more frequent use is necessary: 5 drops for 20 minutes (1 drop at 5-minute intervals) or 1 drop/hour for 6-10 hours.
For the treatment of chlamydial conjunctivitis, 1 drop of the drug is instilled into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye 2-4 times a day for 1-2 months.
Contraindications:
-pregnancy;
– lactation period (breastfeeding);
– children and adolescents up to 18 years of age;
– hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Precautions:
During treatment, you should avoid wearing contact lenses.
Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery:
During the treatment period, caution should be exercised when driving vehicles and engaging in potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.
Side effects:
Local reactions: burning sensation; with prolonged use – development of secondary fungal infection.
