Each 1 ml contains:
Xylometazoline hydrochloride 1 mg
Properties:
A vasoconstrictor for local use in ENT practice. When applied to mucous membranes, it causes vasoconstriction, resulting in a decrease in local hyperemia and edema. In rhinitis, it facilitates nasal breathing.
The drug should not be used for more than 7 days to avoid atrophy of the nasal mucosa.
Indications:
Symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion in chronic, year-round and acute rhinitis (including allergic and pollen-related), sinusitis.
Method of administration and dosage:
Intranasally. 2-3 drops in each nasal passage 2-3 times a day.
Contraindications:
– Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
-Patients with a history of pituitary gland removal or other brain surgeries.
– Children under 12 years old.
– Closed-angle glaucoma.
– Atrophic rhinitis.
– Arterial hypertension, tachycardia, severe atherosclerosis.
– Hyperthyroidism.
Precautions:
During pregnancy and lactation, it should be used only after careful assessment of the risk-benefit ratio for the mother and fetus by the attending physician.
Side effects:
With frequent and/or prolonged use: irritation of the mucous membrane, burning, tingling, sneezing, dryness of the nasal mucosa, hypersecretion.
Rare: swelling of the nasal mucosa (more common with prolonged use), palpitations, heart rhythm disturbances, increased blood pressure, headache, vomiting, sleep disorders, visual disturbances.
With prolonged use in high doses: depressive state.
Storage method:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees
