Each vaginal gelatin capsule contains:
Miconazole nitrate 400 mg.
Auxiliary components:
Liquid paraffin, petrolatum, gelatin, sorbitol, glycerol, sodium ethyl hydroxybenzoate.
Properties:
An antifungal agent that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol in the cell membrane. It is active against dermatophytes, yeasts and some other fungi. It exhibits antimicrobial activity against gram-positive microorganisms. It does not change the composition of the vaginal microflora or pH. It quickly eliminates itching, which usually accompanies fungal infections.
Indications:
Locally – vaginal and vulvovaginal candidiasis, superinfection caused by gram-positive microorganisms; fungal balanitis.
Method of administration and dosage:
1 vaginal capsule of 200 mg is inserted deep into the vagina at night. After the symptoms disappear, the treatment is continued for another 3-6 days.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, pregnancy (II-III trimesters – for use of vaginal forms), liver and/or kidney failure, children under 12 years of age (for vaginal forms).
With caution: diabetes mellitus, microcirculation disorders.
Precautions:
It is necessary to conduct simultaneous treatment of both sexual partners.
During pregnancy, the use of the drug is possible only in the first trimester.
Side effects:
Allergic reactions. Use of suppositories in excessive quantities – skin irritation, itching, burning sensation (usually disappears when therapy is stopped).
Storage method:
At a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees.
