lactose monohydrate (milk sugar), pregelatinized starch (starch 1500), colloidal silicon dioxide (aerosil), magnesium stearate, talc.
Properties:
Trimebutine, acting on the enkephalinergic system of the intestine, is a regulator of its peristalsis. Acting on peripheral receptors, including those located directly on the smooth muscles throughout the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), it regulates motility without affecting the central nervous system. Thus, trimebutine restores normal physiological activity of the intestinal muscles in various GIT diseases associated with motility disorders.
By normalizing visceral sensitivity, trimebutine provides an analgesic effect in abdominal pain syndrome.
Indications:
For oral administration:
symptomatic treatment of pain associated with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract.
For parenteral use: symptomatic treatment of severe pain in functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract; treatment of postoperative paralytic ileus and in preparation for X-ray and endoscopic examinations.
Method of administration and dosage:
The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly observe the compliance of the used dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.
Individual. Daily oral dose – up to 300 mg, 1 tablet of 100 mg 3 times a day. The dose can be increased to 600 mg per day, 1 tablet of 200 mg 3 times a day.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to trimebutine.
Pregnancy.
Lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Precautions:
A course of treatment for irritable bowel syndrome in the acute period at a dose of 600 mg per day for four weeks and continuation of treatment after the course at a dose of 300 mg per day for 12 weeks helps to avoid relapse of the disease.
Side effects:
From the digestive system: dry mouth, unpleasant taste sensations, diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, constipation.
From the nervous system: drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, headache, anxiety, feeling of heat or cold.
Allergic reactions: skin rash.
Others: menstrual irregularities, painful enlargement of the mammary glands, urinary retention.
