Compound:

Each 1 gram of cream contains:

Gentamicin sulfate 1 mg

Auxiliary components:

Chlorocresol, polyethyleneglycol monocetyl ether, cetosteryl alcohol, liquid petrolatum, white petrolatum, sodium dihydrogen phosphate.

Properties:

Gentamicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that provides effective treatment for primary and secondary skin infections. Garamicin cream is active against aerobic gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Serratia spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter spp.

It is also active against aerobic gram-positive cocci: Staphylococcus spp. (including those resistant to penicillins and other antibiotics), some strains of Streptococcus spp.

Indications:

Infectious and inflammatory skin diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to gentamicin:

pyoderma (including gangrenous), superficial folliculitis, furunculosis, sycosis, paronychia, infected seborrheic dermatitis, infected acne, secondary bacterial infection in fungal and viral skin infections, infected skin wounds of various etiologies (burns, wounds, hard-to-heal ulcers, insect bites), furuncles, infected varicose ulcers, etc.

The cream is suitable for primary infections accompanied by mucus and discharge, as well as secondary infections with oiliness, such as pustular acne or infected seborrheic dermatitis.

Method of administration and dosage:

A small amount of cream is applied to the affected areas of the skin 3-4 times a day; it can also be used under a bandage.

When treating contagious impetigo, before applying Garamycin cream, it is necessary to remove as much of the crusts on the skin as possible to ensure maximum contact of the antibiotic with the infectious agent.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Children under 1 year of age.

Precautions:

Use with caution in case of large affected areas; during pregnancy and lactation

The use of topical antibiotics can in some cases cause an overgrowth of microorganisms on the skin, including some fungi.

In case of irritation, allergic reactions or development of superinfection, treatment with Garamycin should be discontinued and appropriate therapy prescribed.

Irritation, itching, photosensitivity.
