Description
Tradename:
Evastine
Compound:
Each tablet contains:
Ebastine 10 mg
Auxiliary components:
Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, purified talc, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, titanium dioxide.
Properties:
Histamine H1 receptor blocker from the group of piperidine derivatives. Has an antiallergic effect. It is characterized by a long-lasting effect (up to 48 hours), which is due to the formation of active metabolites. Unlike many histamine H1 receptor blockers, ebastine has virtually no m-anticholinergic activity, and also penetrates poorly into the central nervous system and does not have a pronounced sedative effect.
Indications:
Allergic rhinitis (seasonal, year-round), idiopathic chronic urticaria, allergic diseases and conditions caused by increased histamine release.
Directions for use and dosage:
Inside, regardless of food intake. Adults and children over 12 years of age: 10–20 mg 1 time per day (depending on the severity of symptoms).
Contraindications:
Pregnancy, lactation, hypersensitivity to piperidine derivatives.
Precautionary measures:
Use with caution in patients with impaired liver and kidney function (in these cases, T1/2 of ebastine increases significantly).
Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and machinery:
In therapeutic doses, it does not affect the ability to drive a car or operate machinery.
Side effects:
Possible: headache, dry mouth, drowsiness.
Rarely: abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, asthenic syndrome, drowsiness, insomnia, rhinitis, sinusitis.
