Description
Tradename:
Dozova Melatonin
Compound:
Each capsule contains:
Melatonin 5 mg
Auxiliary components:
Microcrystalline cellulose, talc, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate, gelatin, titanium dioxide.
Properties:
A synthetic analogue of the pineal body (epiphysis) hormone melatonin.
It has an adaptogenic, sedative and hypnotic effect.
Normalizes circadian rhythms. Increases the concentration of GABA and serotonin in the midbrain and hypothalamus, changes the activity of pyridoxal kinase involved in the synthesis of GABA, dopamine and serotonin.
Improves sleep quality, reduces the frequency of headaches, dizziness, and improves mood. Accelerates falling asleep, reduces the frequency of night awakenings, improves well-being after waking up in the morning, and does not cause a feeling of lethargy, weakness and fatigue when waking up. Makes dreams more vivid and emotionally rich.
Indications:
For sleep disorders, incl. caused by a disturbance in the sleep-wake rhythm, such as desynchronosis (sudden change of time zones).
Directions for use and dosage:
One capsule is used immediately before bedtime.
Contraindications:
Increased sensitivity to melatonin; severe renal and liver dysfunction, autoimmune diseases (no clinical data), liver failure, pregnancy, breastfeeding, age under 18 years (efficacy and safety have not been established).
Precautionary measures:
With caution: renal failure, old age.
It is necessary to inform women planning pregnancy that melatonin has a weak contraceptive effect.
While using melatonin, you should not drink alcohol, which reduces its effectiveness.
With age, melatonin metabolism decreases, which must be taken into account when choosing a dosage regimen in elderly patients.
Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery:
When using melatonin, you should refrain from driving vehicles and engaging in potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (risk of developing drowsiness).
Side effects:
In rare cases, the following side effects, including severe ones, are possible: allergic reactions, drowsiness, irritability, low mood, migraine, decreased visual acuity, vertigo, hypertension, hot flashes, night sweats, polyuria, night cramps.
Storage method:
In a dry and dark place at a temperature no higher than 25 degrees.
