Description
Trade name:
Downoprazol
Compound:
Each capsule contains:
Omeprazole 20 mg
Sodium bicarbonate 1100 mg
Properties:
Omeprazole inhibits the enzyme H7K+-ATPase, responsible for the secretion of hydrochloric acid by the acidic cells of the stomach. Due to such a selective intracellular action, independent of membrane receptors, omeprazole belongs to an independent class of hydrochloric acid secretion inhibitors, which block the final phase of the secretory process. Due to its mechanism of action, omeprazole reduces not only the basal secretion of acid, but also the secretion that can be stimulated, regardless of the type of stimulant; it increases the pH value and reduces the secretory volume of gastric hydrochloric acid.
Sodium bicarbonate:
When taken orally, it quickly neutralizes hydrochloric acid in gastric juice and has a quick but short-term antacid effect. Irritates the receptors of the gastric mucosa, increases the release of gastrin with secondary activation of secretion, and can cause discomfort in the stomach (due to its stretching) and belching.
Indications:
• Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (including prevention of relapses),
• Reflux esophagitis,
• Hypersecretory conditions (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, stress ulcers of the gastrointestinal tract, polyendocrine adenomatosis, systemic mastocytosis).
• Prevention of aspiration of acidic gastric contents into the respiratory tract during general anesthesia (Mendelson’s syndrome).
• NSAID gastropathy.
• Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in infected patients with gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer (as part of combination therapy).
Method of administration and dosage:
Adults over 18 years of age:
Take 1 capsule per day. The course of treatment is determined by the doctor.
On average, the course of treatment is 4-8 weeks.
Contraindications:
Childhood;
pregnancy;
lactation period;
hypersensitivity.
With caution:
renal and/or hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions:
Before starting therapy, it is necessary to exclude the presence of a malignant process (especially in the case of a stomach ulcer), since treatment, by masking the symptoms, can delay the correct diagnosis.
Taking it with food does not affect its effectiveness.
