Properties:
Hemostatic agent, also has angioprotective and proaggregant effect. Stimulates the formation of platelets and their release from the bone marrow. The hemostatic effect, due to the activation of thromboplastin formation at the site of damage to small vessels and a decrease in the formation of prostacyclin PgI2 in the vascular endothelium, promotes increased adhesion and aggregation of platelets.
Indications:
Prevention and stopping of pre- and postoperative parenchymal and capillary bleeding (including traumatic bleeding, in surgery during operations on highly vascularized organs and tissues, during surgical interventions in dental, urological, ophthalmological, otolaryngological practice, in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Method of administration and dosage:
Adults:
1-2 ampoules intravenously or intramuscularly one hour before surgery;
If necessary – 1-2 ampoules intravenously during surgery;
In the postoperative period – 1-2 ampoules every 4-6 hours if the risk of bleeding persists.
In emergency cases – 1-2 ampoules intravenously or intramuscularly every 4-6 hours if the risk of bleeding persists.
Locally: moisten a cotton swab with the contents of the ampoule and apply to the bleeding area. The application can be repeated if necessary, and can also be combined with oral administration or injections of the drug.
Children:
The drug is prescribed in half the adult dosage.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to etamsylate, acute porphyria, hemoblastosis in children, thrombosis, thromboembolism; pregnancy, lactation; children under 3 years of age (for oral administration).
Precautions:
The drug should be administered with caution in cases of thrombosis, thromboembolism in the anamnesis; bleeding due to an overdose of anticoagulants; in case of liver and/or kidney dysfunction.
Side effects:
Nausea, diarrhea, heaviness in the epigastric region, skin rash; hyperemia of the facial skin, headache; dizziness, paresthesia of the lower extremities.
Storage method:
The drug should be stored in a place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees.
