Compound:

Each 1 gram of ointment contains:

Dexamethasone micronized 1 mg

Neomycin sulfate micronized 5 mg (equivalent to neomycin 3.5 mg)

Polymyxin B sulfate 6000 IU (equivalent to polymyxin 1 mg).

Auxiliary components:

Anhydrous lanolin, chlorobutanol, paraffin.

Properties:

A combination drug with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action for local use in ophthalmology.

Dexamethasone is a glucocorticoid. It has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and desensitizing effect. It has an anti-exudative effect.

Neomycin is an antibiotic that has a bactericidal effect by disrupting bacterial cell protein synthesis. Polymyxin B is an antibiotic whose mechanism of action is primarily due to blocking the permeability of the cytoplasmic membrane of bacterial cells.

Indications:

A combination drug for topical use in ophthalmology. Used in the treatment of conjunctivitis, blepharitis, keratoconjunctivitis, iridocyclitis, keratitis.

Prevention of postoperative complications.

Method of administration and dosage:

A small amount of ointment is placed in the conjunctival sac 3-4 times a day; it can be used in addition to Dexatrol drops at night.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Viral eye infection.

Fungal eye infection.

Tuberculosis of the eyes.

Pregnancy and lactation.

Precautions:

If swelling, redness and pain increase, the patient should consult a doctor again.

While using the drug, you should avoid wearing contact lenses.

Side effects:

Increased intraocular pressure, eye irritation, eye discomfort (burning, sharp tingling, itching), hypersensitivity.
