Compound:
Every 5 ml of syrup contains:

Dexamethasone 0.5 mg

Chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg.

Auxiliary components:

Propylene glycol, methylparaben, propylparaben, sorbitol, sucrose, diodium edetate, sodium metabisulfite, anhydrous citric acid, anhydrous sodium citrate, carmoisine, strawberry flavor, purified water.

Properties:
Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid (GCS), a methylated derivative of fluoroprednisolone. It has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, immunosuppressive effects, increases the sensitivity of beta-adrenergic receptors to endogenous catecholamines.

The peculiarity of the action is significant inhibition of pituitary function and the almost complete absence of mineralocorticosteroid activity.

Chlorpheniramine maleate is a histamine H1 receptor blocker and has antiserotonin, antihistamine, weak anticholinergic, and sedative effects. Reduces the severity of allergic reactions mediated by the action of histamine, reduces capillary permeability, constricts blood vessels, eliminates swelling and hyperemia of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, nasopharynx and paranasal sinuses; reduces local exudative manifestations, suppresses the symptoms of allergic rhinitis: sneezing, rhinorrhea, itching of the eyes and nose.

Indications:
Dexafen is used for inflammatory conditions and allergic diseases such as:

Allergic rhinitis;

Otitis media;

Various skin allergic diseases;

Allergies that occur as a result of taking certain medications, exposure to chemicals, or insect bites;

In some cases, rheumatic diseases and hormonal diseases;

Hives;

Allergies and eye infections;

Respiratory sensitivity.

Directions for use and dosage:
Children from 2 to 6 years old:

1/2 teaspoon 3 times a day

Adults and children over 12 years of age:

1 teaspoon 3 times a day.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to components;

Children under 2 years old;

Bronchial asthma ;

Systemic fungal infection.

Precautionary measures:
Dexofen syrup contains sodium metabisulfite, which can cause allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock.

Contains sucrose. Do not use in patients with intolerance to sucrose and fructose. Should be taken with caution in patients with stomach ulcers or tuberculosis.

Side effects:
May cause mild sedation;

Allergic reactions.

From the nervous system: delirium, disorientation, euphoria, hallucinations, manic-depressive psychosis, depression, paranoia, increased intracranial pressure, nervousness or anxiety, insomnia, dizziness, vertigo, pseudotumor of the cerebellum, headache, convulsions.

Storage method:
In a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees.
