Description

Trade name:

Coloverin D

Compound:

Each tablet contains:

Mebeverine hydrochloride 135 mg

Dimethicone 40 mg

Properties:

Mebeverine hydrochloride is a myotropic antispasmodic agent that acts directly on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract without affecting normal intestinal motility. The exact mechanism of action is unknown, but multiple mechanisms, such as decreased ion channel permeability, norepinephrine reuptake blockade, local anesthetic action, and changes in water absorption, may cause the local action of mebeverine on the gastrointestinal tract. Through these mechanisms, mebeverine exerts an antispasmodic effect, normalizing intestinal motility and without causing permanent relaxation of gastrointestinal smooth muscle cells (“hypotension”).

Dimethicone – reduces gas formation in the intestines, accelerates motility, exhibits foam-extinguishing activity. It is not absorbed from the intestines, has no systemic effect. When applied locally, it has a lubricating effect, gives teeth an even shine and prevents the formation of acid plaque and tartar. It is the basis for some external use products, a component of various cosmetic moisturizing creams and lipodermal complexes (participates in the formation of a protective film), and is part of a number of combination drugs.
