Compound:
Each 5 ml of suspension contains:
Paracetamol 250 mg
Auxiliary components:
Sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sorbitol, saccharin, glycerol, dimethicone, tutti-frutti flavor.
Properties:
Cetal is an effective and fast-acting analgesic and antipyretic. The drug contains paracetamol, which blocks cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and COX-2 primarily in the central nervous system, affecting the pain and thermoregulation centers.
Indications:
Cetal suspension is used to relieve moderate and severe pain and reduce elevated body temperature.
Method of administration and dosage:
Cetal suspension is indicated for children aged 6 months and older in the following doses:
6-24 months – 2.5 ml 4 times a day
2-8 years – 5 ml 4 times a day
8-10 years – 7.5 ml 4 times a day
10-12 years – 10 ml 4 times a day
12-16 years – 10-15 ml 4 times a day
Children over 16 years of age and adults – 10-20 ml up to 4 times a day.
The dose of the drug is calculated based on 10-15 mg of paracetamol per kg of weight as a single dose.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to paracetamol.
The drug contains saccharin, which is contraindicated in case of liver dysfunction.
Precautions:
The drug is prescribed with caution to patients with severe liver and kidney dysfunction.
The drug contains sorbitol, which may have a laxative effect.
Do not exceed the recommended doses, do not use with other paracetamol-containing drugs. If symptoms worsen, consult a doctor.
Side effects:
Paracetamol – in recommended doses is usually well tolerated, however, in some cases allergic reactions are possible, including urticaria. Changes in the general blood test – thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, pancytopenia, leukopenia and agranulocytosis.
Storage method:
At a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees.
