Properties:
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drug, a derivative of propionic acid. It has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects.
Indications:
Treatment of various arthroses such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, fibrosis, lower back pain, soft tissue injuries such as sprains and strains, various inflammations of tendons, joint capsules. As an analgesic for the relief of mild to moderate pain, dysmenorrhea, dental, postoperative and postpartum pain and for symptomatic relief of headaches, including migraine. Brufen syrup is indicated for the short-term treatment of hyperthermia in children from 3 months.
Method of administration and dosage:
Adults and adolescents: The recommended dose is 1200-1800 mg per day in divided doses. Some patients may take 600-1200 mg per day. The total daily dose should not exceed 2400 mg.
For children: The recommended dose of Brufen syrup is 20-30 mg per kg of body weight in divided doses.
Children 3-6 months (5-7 kg): 2.5 ml 3 times a day.
From 6 to 12 months (7-10 kg) 2.5 ml 3 times a day.
From 1 to 2 years (10-14.5 kg) 2.5 ml 3-4 times a day.
From 3 to 7 years (14.5-25 kg) 5 ml 3-4 times a day.
From 8 to 12 years old (25-40 kg) 10 ml 3-4 times a day.
Take orally, shake the bottle thoroughly before use. For a quick effect, you can take it on an empty stomach. Patients with a sensitive stomach are advised to take ibuprofen with food. In rheumatoid arthritis, the daily dose can be increased to 40 mg / kg of body weight per day in severe cases. In children weighing less than 30 kg, the total daily dose of Brufen syrup should not exceed 500 mg.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or any of the excipients. If hypersensitivity reactions to ibuprofen, aspirin have been previously identified. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation associated with previous NSAID therapy. Active or history of recurrent peptic ulcer disease, patients with increased bleeding tendency, cardiovascular disease, severe cardiac, hepatic and renal insufficiency. Last trimester of pregnancy.
Precautions:
It is recommended to use in the minimum effective dose necessary to eliminate symptoms. During long-term treatment, it is necessary to monitor peripheral blood and liver and kidney function. With caution in bronchial asthma due to the risk of bronchospasm, patients with a rare hereditary problem of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose isomaltase deficiency should not take this medicine. Brufen contains 13 g of sucrose, which should be taken into account by patients with diabetes. The suspension contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sunset yellow dye (E 110), which can cause allergic reactions (possibly with a delay). Ibuprofen affects ovulation, disrupting female reproductive function (reversible after discontinuation of treatment). Pregnancy and lactation: not recommended for use during pregnancy. May be excreted in small amounts in breast milk. Therefore, it is recommended to stop breastfeeding while using the drug.
Side effects:
Gastrointestinal diseases, gastric and duodenal ulcers, perforation or gastrointestinal bleeding, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation, abdominal pain, ulcerative stomatitis, exacerbation of colitis, gastritis. A temporary burning sensation in the mouth or throat may occur when taking ibuprofen suspension. Hypersensitivity reactions.
