Each tablet contains:
Piroxicam beta-cyclodextrin 191.2 mg, equivalent to piroxicam 20 mg.
Properties:
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug from the oxicam group. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.
The mechanism of action is associated with the suppression of prostaglandin synthesis due to inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity.
Reduces pain syndrome. Reduces or stops inflammation and pain in joints at rest and during movement, reduces morning stiffness and swelling of joints, helps increase range of motion.
The analgesic effect occurs 30 minutes after taking the drug orally. The anti-inflammatory effect appears by the end of the first week of treatment. After a single dose, the effect lasts for 24 hours.
Indications:
Joint diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, chronic polyarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Reiter’s syndrome, psoriatic polyarthritis, arthrosis (coxarthrosis, gonarthrosis, spondyloarthrosis and polyarthrosis);
– soft tissue diseases: periarthritis, bursitis, tendinitis;
-cervical-brachial syndrome, lumbago, sciatica;
– pain after surgical, orthopedic, gynecological, dental interventions;
– post-traumatic conditions (pain syndrome due to sprains, dislocations, fractures);
-gout;
-dysmenorrhea, adnexitis, cystitis.
Method of administration and dosage:
The drug is prescribed in a daily dose of 20 mg. Take 1 time per day or divide into 2 doses.
In case of severe clinical symptoms, the daily dose can be increased briefly to 40 mg.
The tablets are taken orally during meals.
Contraindications:
– History of bronchial asthma, urticaria, acute rhinitis associated with the use of acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs;
– gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase;
– disturbances in the peripheral blood picture of unclear genesis (including in the anamnesis);
– severe liver and kidney dysfunction;
-pregnancy;
– lactation period;
– children and adolescents up to 15 years of age;
– hypersensitivity to piroxicam and other components of the drug.
Precautions:
The drug should be prescribed in the shortest possible courses at the minimum effective dose.
The drug should be prescribed with particular caution to patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases (ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease), arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure, infectious diseases, as well as to elderly patients.
The drug should be prescribed with caution and only under the supervision of a physician to patients with bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyposis, and chronic obstructive respiratory diseases.
During the period of taking the drug, simultaneous consumption of alcohol should be avoided.
Side effects:
From the digestive system: often – heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract with possible bleeding and perforation (the frequency of these disorders increases with an increase in the daily dose of the drug).
From the central nervous system: dizziness, headache, drowsiness, disorientation.
Allergic reactions: itching, urticaria.
Dermatological reactions: photosensitivity.
From the hematopoietic system: rarely – anemia, granulocytopenia.
From the urinary system: rarely – renal dysfunction.
Storage method:
Store at temperatures not exceeding 25 degrees.
