Each 100 ml of suspension contains:
Albendazole 2 g.
Properties:
Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic with activity against most nematodes and some cestodes. Destroys the growth of parasitic worms.
Indications:
Nematodosis (ascariasis, enterobiasis, ankylostomiasis, necatoriasis, trichuriasis); mixed helminthic infestations; strongyloidiasis; neurocysticercosis caused by the larval form of Taenia solium; echinococcosis of the liver, lungs, peritoneum caused by the larval form of Echinococcus granulosus; giardiasis; toxocariasis; as an adjuvant in the surgical treatment of echinococcosis cysts.
Method of administration and dosage:
A single dose for children is 5 ml, and for adults – 20 ml at breakfast and dinner. The suspension is taken during meals, washed down with warm water.
The average dose for the treatment of nematodosis for adults and children over 2 years old: 400 mg orally once. The drug is taken during meals. It is recommended to conduct simultaneous treatment of all family members. For neurocysticercosis and echinococcosis, patients weighing 60 kg or more: 400 mg 2 times a day; with a body weight of less than 60 kg: 15 mg / kg / day in 2 doses. The maximum daily dose is 800 mg (400 mg 2 times a day). The course of treatment for neurocysticercosis is 8-30 days; for echinococcosis – 3 cycles of 28 days with a 14-day interval between cycles. For giardiasis in children: 10-15 mg/kg once a day for 5-7 days. For toxocariasis, adults and children over 14 years of age weighing more than 60 kg are prescribed 400 mg 2 times a day; with a body weight of less than 60 kg – 200 mg 2 times a day; children under 14 years: 10 mg/kg 2 times a day. Duration of therapy is 7-14 days.
Important: shake the bottle before use. For severe infections, the dose can be doubled, divided into 2 doses per day: morning and evening. It is strictly prohibited to independently increase the daily dose without consulting a doctor.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug and other benzimidazole derivatives; retinal damage; pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions:
Patients receiving high doses of the drug should monitor liver function. Carefully monitor the blood picture.
Side effects:
Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting; headache, dizziness; skin rash, itching; fever, high blood pressure, acute renal failure, allergic reactions.
Storage method:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees in a place inaccessible to children.
