Description

Trade name:

Azaderm

Compound:

Each gram of cream contains:

azelaic acid 200 mg

Auxiliary components:

benzoic acid, macrogol glyceryl stearate, a mixture of glyceryl stearate, cetostearyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate and fatty acid glycerides, cetostearyl ethyl caproate, propylene glycol, glycerol 85%, purified water.

Properties:

A drug for the treatment of acne. Azelaic acid normalizes the disrupted keratinization processes in the follicles of the sebaceous glands, reduces the content of free fatty acids in skin lipids and reduces its oiliness. It exhibits antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The anti-inflammatory effect is also due to a decrease in neutrophil metabolism and a decrease in the production of free-radical forms of oxygen. Azelaic acid has a dose- and time-dependent suppressive effect on the growth and viability of abnormal melanocytes.

Indications:

acne vulgaris

Method of administration and dosage:

The dosage regimen and duration of therapy are determined individually. The drug is prescribed to adults and children over 12 years of age.

Before using the product, the skin should be cleansed with water or a mild cleansing cosmetic product, then dried.

The cream is applied to the affected areas of the skin evenly in a thin layer 2 times a day (morning and evening) and lightly rubbed in. The drug should be used in sufficient quantities, but not excessively. The drug should be used regularly throughout the course of treatment, the duration of which depends on the clinical picture of the disease and the severity of symptoms. In acne (acne vulgaris), improvement is usually observed after 4 weeks. For best results, use of the drug should be continued for several months, but not longer than 6 months.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Precautions:

In cases of skin irritation, the number of single applications of the cream should be reduced or the frequency of use of the drug should be reduced to 1 time per day; if necessary, the drug can be discontinued for a short time (for several days).

Avoid contact of the preparation with eyes and wound surfaces; in case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with water.

Side effects:

At the beginning of treatment, a small number of patients may experience local irritation, manifested as hyperemia, peeling, erythema, burning, itching. In most cases, these symptoms are not very pronounced and disappear on their own within a few days of treatment.

In very rare cases, skin allergic reactions (rash) are possible.

Storage method:

Store at temperatures not exceeding 30 degrees.
