Each 2 ml ampoule contains:
Pheniramine hydrogen maleate 45.5 mg.
Properties:
Histamine H1 receptor blocker. Has an antiallergic effect, reduces exudation. When taken intramuscularly, the therapeutic effect occurs within 1 hour and lasts up to 24 hours.
Indications:
Hay fever (hay fever), allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis; neurodermatitis; skin itching of various etiologies; Quincke’s edema, urticaria, insect bites, drug dermatitis, first degree thermal burns; general malaise due to radiation therapy.
Directions for use and dosage:
The average single dose for intramuscular administration for adults and adolescents is 45.5 mg, frequency of administration is 1-2 times/day.
The average single dose for children aged 1-2 years is 7.5 mg, 4-12 years – 15 mg. Frequency of administration – 2-3 times/day.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to pheniramine; prostatic hypertrophy, angle-closure glaucoma.
Precautionary measures:
During the treatment period, observation by an ophthalmologist is necessary.
Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and machinery:
During the treatment period, patients should avoid driving vehicles and other activities that require high concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.
Side effects:
Rarely: decreased speed of psychomotor reactions, feeling of fatigue, drowsiness, dry mouth, dyspeptic symptoms, tachycardia, urinary retention, allergic reactions, dermatitis, increased intraocular pressure in patients with angle-closure glaucoma; in some cases, especially in children, when used in high doses, feelings of anxiety, agitation, hallucinations, and confusion are possible.
