Amigrawest

Form: Film-coated tablets.

Active Ingredient:
• Zolmitriptan – 2.5 mg (Selective serotonin receptor agonist – triptan class).

Pharmacological Action:
• Zolmitriptan works by narrowing blood vessels around the brain and reducing the release of substances that cause migraine symptoms, such as pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound.

Indications:
• Acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults.

Dosage and Administration:
• Initial dose: 2.5 mg at the onset of a migraine attack.
• If symptoms persist or recur, a second dose can be taken after at least 2 hours.
• Maximum daily dose: 10 mg (not more than 4 tablets of 2.5 mg).

Contraindications:
• Hypersensitivity to zolmitriptan or any component of the formulation.
• Ischemic heart disease or coronary artery vasospasm.
• Uncontrolled hypertension.
• History of stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA).

Side Effects:
• Headache recurrence.
• Dizziness, drowsiness.
• Increased blood pressure.
• Sensations of tingling, warmth, or pressure.

Special Precautions:
• Not for prophylactic use (only for active migraine attacks).
• Avoid use in patients with cardiovascular risk factors without prior medical evaluation.
• Should not be taken with other triptans or ergotamine-containing medications within 24 hours.
