Composition:
Each 1 ml of suspension contains:
Albendazole 20 mg
Properties:
Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic agent with activity against most nematodes and some cestodes. Destroys the growth of parasitic worms.
Indications:
nematodes (ascariasis, enterobiasis, ankylostomiasis, nematosis, trichocephalosis); helminthic invasions; strongyloidosis; neurocysticercosis caused by the larval form of Taeniasolium; echinococcosis of the liver, lungs, peritoneum, caused by the larval form of Echinococcusgranulosus; giardiasis; toxocariasis; as an aid in the surgical treatment of echinococcosis cysts.
Mode of application:
should be taken with meals. Average dose for the treatment of nematodes for adults and children over 2 years of age: 20 ml (400 mg) of the suspension orally once. The drug is taken with meals. It is recommended that all family members be treated simultaneously. With neurocysticercosis and echinococcosis in patients weighing 60 kg or more: 20 ml (400 mg) 2 times / day; with a body weight of less than 60 kg: 15 mg / kg / day in 2 divided doses. The maximum daily dose is 40 ml (800 mg), 20 ml (400 mg) 2 times / day. The course of treatment for neurocysticercosis is 8-30 days; with echinococcosis – 3 cycles of 28 days with a 14-day interval between cycles. With giardiasis in children: 10-15 mg / kg 1 time / day for 5-7 days. With toxocariasis, adults and children over 14 years old with a body weight of more than 60 kg are prescribed 20 ml (400 mg) 2 times / day; with a body weight of less than 60 kg – 10 ml (200 mg) 2 times / day; children under 14 years old: 10 mg / kg 2 times / day. Duration of therapy 7-14 days. Shake the bottle before use.
Contraindications:
hypersensitivity to drug components and other benzimidazole derivatives; retinal damage;
pregnancy and lactation.
Precautionary measures:
patients receiving high doses of the drug should monitor liver function. Monitor blood composition carefully.
Side effects:
pain in the abdomen, nausea, vomiting; headache, dizziness; skin rash, itching; fever, increased blood pressure, acute renal failure, allergic reactions.
