Description

Trade name:

Femogesal

Compound:

Each tablet contains:

Gestodene 75 mcg

Ethinyl estradiol 30 mcg

Auxiliary components:

Sodium calcium edetate, lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone, magnesium stearate.

Shell composition: sucrose, povidone, polyglycol, calcium carbonate, talc, montan glycol wax (montan glycol wax).

Properties:

The combination of gestodene + ethinyl estradiol inhibits the secretion of gonadotropic hormones; inhibits the maturation of follicles; prevents the ovulation process; reduces the susceptibility of the endometrium to the blastocyst and increases the viscosity of the cervical secretion, making it difficult for sperm to penetrate the uterine cavity.

Women taking COCs experience more regular cycles, reduced pain and intensity of menstrual-like bleeding, thereby reducing one of the risk factors for iron deficiency anemia. Taking COCs with a high content of ethinyl estradiol (50 mcg) reduces the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancer. There is no data confirming this pharmacological effect for COCs with a lower content of ethinyl estradiol.

Indications:

Oral contraception.

Method of administration and dosage:

Femogesal is taken orally, 1 tablet/day at the same time without fail for 21 days, followed by a 7-day break before starting the next package.

Taking Femogesal begins on the 1st day of menstruation.

When switching from another oral contraceptive

Take 1 tablet 7 days after finishing the previous contraceptive containing 21 tablets. After finishing taking Femogesal, if there is no bleeding for 6-7 days, pregnancy must be excluded before starting the next pack of contraceptive.

If you miss one or more tablets:

If the missed dose is less than 12 hours, the pill should be taken immediately. The next pill should be taken at the scheduled time.

If the missed dose is more than 12 hours, contraceptive safety cannot be guaranteed. It is necessary to take the missed tablet immediately, even if two tablets are taken on the same day. Then continue the course as usual, while it is necessary to use additional methods of contraception (condoms, spermicides) until the end of the menstrual cycle and the beginning of the next pack.
