Norethisterone acetate 5 mg
Auxiliary components:
Dibasic calcium phosphate, avicel, povidone, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, talc, aerosil.
Properties:
Norethisterone is a progestogen.
Inhibits proliferative activity in hyperplastic endometrium, promotes secretory transformation, development of decidual reaction of the stroma and atrophic changes in the epithelium of glands and stroma. Inhibits secretion of gonadotropic hormones by the pituitary gland.
It is well absorbed when taken orally. The time to reach Cmax is about 2 hours. In the liver, with the participation of microsomal oxidation enzymes, it undergoes biotransformation. T1/2 is 3–10 hours. It is excreted in the urine (up to 70% of the administered dose) and intestines.
Indications:
Premenstrual syndrome, mastodynia, mastopathy, dysmenorrhea with shortening of the secretory phase, dysfunctional uterine bleeding (for replacement purposes in case of corpus luteum hormone deficiency), algomenorrhea, primary and secondary amenorrhea, cystic glandular hyperplasia of the endometrium, endometriosis, adenomyosis, uterine myoma, infertility, miscarriage, prevention and termination of lactation, delay of the next menstruation, climacteric syndrome, contraception.
Method of administration and dosage:
The dose and course of treatment are selected by the doctor after examination, individually.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, breast cancer (including suspected) and genital cancer, tendency to thrombosis, acute thrombophlebitis or thromboembolism, urinary tract bleeding of unknown origin, metrorrhagia of unknown origin, genital bleeding of unknown origin, cholestatic jaundice of pregnancy (including history), acute liver disease (including benign and malignant neoplasms), severe liver dysfunction, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, pregnancy (including suspicion of pregnancy, except for cases of use for miscarriage), puberty.
Precautions:
Before starting treatment, it is necessary to clarify the cause of vaginal bleeding, confirm its functional nature and exclude the presence of a malignant neoplasm.
Side effects:
Nausea, vomiting, metrorrhagia, peripheral edema, increased fatigue, paresthesia, weight gain, breast engorgement, allergic reactions (skin rash, itching); with prolonged use – thrombosis, thromboembolism.
Storage method:
At a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees.
