Properties:
Evening primrose oil is a natural oil obtained from the seeds of the biennial plant Oenothera biennis. It is a unique supplement of linoleic and gamma-linolenic acids (GLA). Evening primrose oil, as well as breast milk, are just two sources that contain significant amounts of GLA. GLA is a precursor to prostaglandin PGE1. PGE1 plays an important role in various tissues of the human body and thus has preventive and therapeutic value in many diseases.
Indications:
Biologically active supplement to improve body functions.
Stabilizes female hormonal levels both during menstrual cycle irregularities and during menopause.
Method of administration and dosage:
1-2 capsules per day for 1 to 3 months.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to components.
Evening primrose oil is contraindicated for patients with schizophrenia, as well as for those already taking known epileptogenic drugs such as phenothiazines.
Precautions:
Evening primrose oil may interact with phenothiazine antipsychotic drugs such as chlorpromazine.
Side effects:
Evening primrose oil is well tolerated, minor gastrointestinal side effects are possible. Sometimes stomach upset, nausea, headache were observed.
Storage method:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees. In a dry place.
