Description

Trade name:

Gynozol

Compound:

Each gram of cream contains:

Miconazole nitrate 20 mg

Auxiliary components:

Disodium edetate, liquid paraffin, polysorbate 60, propylene glycol, purified water.

Properties:

Miconazole is a synthetic antifungal agent, an imidazole derivative. It has antifungal and antibacterial effects.

The most sensitive to miconazole are dermatomycetes and yeasts. It is active against the causative agent of pityriasis versicolor (Malassezia furfur), causative agents of some dermatomycoses (Candida albicans, Trichophyton, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum). It is active against Dimorphons fungi, Cryptococcus neoformans, Aspergillus spp., Pityrosporum, Torulopsis glabrata, Pseudallescheria boydii; some gram-positive microorganisms, including staphylococci and streptococci. The fungicidal and fungistatic effect of miconazole nitrate is due to the inhibition of ergosterol biosynthesis, changes in the lipid composition and permeability of the cell wall, which causes the death of the fungal cell.

Indications:

Vaginal and vulvovaginal candidiasis; superinfection caused by gram-positive microorganisms.

Method of administration and dosage:

Adults (over 18 years):

Intravaginally, insert as deep into the vagina as possible, in a lying position.

Adults: one applicator into the vagina once a day, in the evening before bedtime for 10-14 days, or one applicator in the morning and evening for 7 days.

The duration of treatment depends on the type of fungal disease, the effectiveness of treatment and the results of mycological tests.

Treatment continues for several days after the symptoms of the disease disappear.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to miconazole or other imidazole derivatives, severe liver and/or kidney dysfunction.

Precautions:

Using vaginal cream may reduce the reliability of mechanical contraception (condoms, vaginal diaphragms).

Do not interrupt treatment during the menstrual cycle.

Simultaneous treatment of the sexual partner is necessary.

The appearance of local allergic reactions or the absence of clinical improvement within 7 days requires discontinuation of treatment and further examination.

Pregnancy and lactation period:

Miconazole should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus.

If it is necessary to prescribe the drug during lactation, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

Side effects:

Local reactions: rarely – itching, burning, irritation of the vaginal mucosa, especially at the beginning of treatment.

Storage method:

Store at temperatures not exceeding 30 degrees.
