It adsorbs poisons and toxins from the gastrointestinal tract before they are absorbed, including alkaloids, glycosides, barbiturates and other sleeping pills and narcotics, heavy metal salts, toxins of bacterial, plant and animal origin, phenol derivatives, hydrocyanic acid, sulfonamides and gases. It also adsorbs excess of some metabolic products – bilirubin, urea, cholesterol, endogenous metabolites responsible for the development of endogenous toxicosis. It weakly adsorbs acids and alkalis (including iron salts, cyanides, methanol and ethylene glycol). It does not irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa.
Anise extract improves digestion, has an anti-inflammatory effect, relieves spasms, has an antibacterial effect, acts as a carminative, reduces nausea.
Mint extract has local anesthetic, antispasmodic and antiseptic properties. In folk medicine, mint leaves are used as a refreshing and choleretic agent.
