Each dispersible film contains:
Loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg
Auxiliary components:
Rice starch, polyethylene glycol, sucralose, orange flavor.
Properties:
Loperamide, by binding to the opioid receptors of the intestinal wall, reduces the tone and motility of the smooth muscles of the intestine, slows the passage of intestinal contents, reduces the excretion of fluid and electrolytes with feces. Increases the tone of the anal sphincter, promotes retention of feces and reduces the urge to defecate. The effect occurs quickly and lasts 4-6 hours.
Indications:
Symptomatic therapy of acute diarrhea in adults and children over 12 years of age.
Symptomatic therapy of acute diarrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in patients over 18 years of age.
Method of administration and dosage:
The drug is used internally, the dispersible film should be placed on the tongue and sucked
Acute diarrhea: Initial dose – 2 dispersible films (4 mg), then 1 dispersible film after each episode of diarrhea. The maximum daily dose is 12 mg.
Contraindications:
Age under 12 years.
Increased sensitivity.
Acute dysentery.
Acute ulcerative colitis.
Pseudomembranous colitis associated with antibiotic use.
Bacterial enterocolitis caused by pathogenic microorganisms, including Salmonella spp., Shigella spp. and Campylobacter spp.
Pregnancy.
Lactation.
Precautions:
Use with caution in cases of liver dysfunction.
Treatment of diarrhea with Lopranest is symptomatic only. In cases where the cause of diarrhea can be determined, appropriate therapy should be administered.
In patients with diarrhea, especially in children, fluid and electrolyte loss may occur. In such cases, appropriate replacement therapy (fluid and electrolyte replacement) should be performed.
Side effects:
Headache, constipation, flatulence, nausea, vomiting.
