Description
Trade name:
Controloc
Compound:
Each tablet contains:
Pantoprazole 40 mg
Auxiliary components:
Sodium carbonate anhydrous, mannitol, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide, calcium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide hydrated.
Properties:
H+-K+-ATPase inhibitor. Blocks the final stage of hydrochloric acid secretion, reduces the level of basal and stimulated (regardless of the type of irritant) secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. In duodenal ulcer disease associated with Helicobacter pylori, such a decrease in gastric secretion increases the sensitivity of the microorganism to antibiotics. Pantoprazole has its own antimicrobial activity against Helicobacter pylori.
Indications:
Peptic ulcer of the stomach or duodenum in the acute phase, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination with antibacterial therapy), reflux esophagitis.
Method of administration and dosage:
Orally, before meals (usually before breakfast), with the required amount of water. Tablets should be swallowed whole, without chewing.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 pantoprazole tablet per day. In individual cases, the dose can be increased to 2 pantoprazole tablets per day. For 4-8 weeks, depending on the diagnosis.
Children under 12 years of age: Pantoprazole is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age due to limited safety and efficacy data in this age group.
Contraindications:
Dyspepsia of neurotic genesis, malignant diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, hypersensitivity to pantoprazole.
Precautions:
Before starting therapy, the possibility of malignant neoplasms in the stomach and esophagus should be excluded, since the use of pantoprazole reduces the severity of symptoms and may delay the establishment of the correct diagnosis. The diagnosis of reflux esophagitis requires mandatory endoscopic confirmation.
When used in patients with impaired liver function, liver enzyme activity in blood plasma should be regularly monitored and if it increases, pantoprazole should be discontinued.
Side effects:
From the digestive system: diarrhea; rarely – nausea, pain in the upper abdomen, flatulence.
