Properties:

Mebeverine hydrochloride:

Pharmacological action: antispasmodic, myotropic.

Blocks fast sodium channels of the myocyte cell membrane and disrupts the entry of Na+ ions into the cell, blocks the entry of Ca2+ ions through slow channels, slows down membrane depolarization processes and prevents muscle fiber contraction.
Directly relaxes smooth muscles, primarily the gastrointestinal tract. Eliminates spasm, does not significantly affect normal intestinal peristalsis. Does not have an anticholinergic effect.

Colona contains sulpiride, which is a selective central blocker of dopamine D2 receptors. It has a mood-improving (due to the neuroleptic effect) and antiemetic effect.

Indications:

Functional gastrointestinal disorders:

Colic (intestinal, including colon).

Irritable bowel syndrome

Diverticular diseases

Post-dysenteric colitis

Control of gastrointestinal manifestations accompanying psychogenic and migraine headaches.

Method of administration and dosage:

One tablet 3-4 times a day, preferably 20 minutes before meals.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; age under 18; pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Precautions:

Before starting to use mebeverine, the patient should consult a doctor in the following cases: if symptoms of the disease have appeared for the first time; in case of unintentional and unexplained weight loss; in case of anemia; in case of rectal bleeding or blood in the stool; in case of fever; in case of a family history of colon cancer, celiac disease or inflammatory bowel disease; in case of the patient over 50 years of age and if symptoms of the disease have appeared for the first time; in case of recent use of antibiotics.

Side effects:

 

From the skin and subcutaneous tissues: urticaria (allergic rash), angioedema (a serious allergic reaction that may include: difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat), swelling of the face, exanthema (skin rash).
From the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions (anaphylactic reactions – serious allergic reactions that may include difficulty breathing, rapid pulse, a sharp decrease in blood pressure (weakness and dizziness), increased sweating).

Storage method:

At a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees. In a dry place.
