Each tablet contains:

Prednisolone sodium metasulfobenzoate 31.44 mg, equivalent to prednisolone 20.00 mg

Auxiliary components:

Polyacrylate, mannitol (granules), mannitol (powder), crospovidone, aspartame, magnesium stearate.

Properties:

Prednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid drug, a dehydrated analogue of hydrocortisone. It has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, immunosuppressive, anti-shock effects, increases the sensitivity of adrenoreceptors to endogenous catecholamines.

Indications:

Systemic connective tissue diseases.

Acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the joints.

Acute rheumatism, acute rheumatic carditis.

Bronchial asthma.

Acute and chronic allergic diseases.

Prevention of transplant rejection reaction during organ transplantation.

Hypercalcemia in the background of oncological diseases.

Myeloma disease.

Method of administration and dosage:

For adults and children weighing more than 10 kg:

The drug is taken orally with a small amount of water.

The dose and duration of treatment are selected by the doctor individually depending on the indications and severity of the disease. The selection of the dose and duration of treatment is determined depending on the individual response to therapy.

Solupred 20 mg is taken depending on whether you are starting treatment or need short-term therapy requiring moderate to high doses.

Contraindications:

– hypersensitivity to prednisolone or to any of the excipients;

-systemic mycosis;

– simultaneous use of live and attenuated vaccines with immunosuppressive doses of the drug;

– eye infection caused by the herpes simplex virus (due to the risk of corneal perforation);

– breastfeeding period;

– do not take for children weighing less than 10 kg.

Precautions:

Gastrointestinal diseases:

– gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer;

-esophagitis, gastritis;

– acute or latent peptic ulcer;

-recent intestinal anastomosis;

– ulcerative colitis with the risk of perforation or abscess formation;

-diverticulitis.

Use in severe infectious diseases is only permissible in combination with specific antimicrobial therapy.

Pre- and post-vaccination period (8 weeks before and 2 weeks after vaccination), lymphadenitis after BCG vaccination. Immunodeficiency states (including AIDS or HIV infection).

Cardiovascular diseases, including chronic heart failure, arterial hypertension, hyperlipidemia.

Endocrine diseases.

Side effects:

Infectious and parasitic diseases: opportunistic infection, masking of clinical symptoms of infections, candidal esophagitis.

From the immune system: skin rash, itching, anaphylactic shock.

From the endocrine system: decreased glucose tolerance, “steroid” diabetes mellitus or manifestation of latent diabetes mellitus, suppression of adrenal function.

Mental disorders: suicidal thoughts, inappropriate behavior, irritability, confusion.
