Compound:

Each 1 ml of solution contains:

Benoxinate hydrochloride 4 mg

Auxiliary components:

Sodium chloride, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, citric acid, thimerosal, water for injection.

Properties:

Local anesthetic for use in ophthalmology.

Indications:

Local anesthesia in ophthalmology (including superficial anesthesia of the cornea and conjunctiva) during tonometry, gonioscopy and other diagnostic examinations, before subconjunctival injections, during removal of foreign bodies and sutures from the cornea and conjunctiva, during short-term surgical interventions on the cornea and conjunctiva.

Method of administration and dosage:

Locally, instillation into the conjunctival sac. The dosage regimen is individual, depending on the indications and clinical situation.

– 1 drop in the conjunctival sac – used for tonometry 1 minute after instillation

– 1 more drop after 90 seconds – for more comfortable trying on of contact lenses

-3 drops instilled over 90 seconds – allow for the removal of a foreign body or for the opening of a meibomian gland cyst.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, age under 2 years

Precautions:

Use with caution in patients with pseudocholinesterase deficiency, malignant myasthenia, and patients with epilepsy.

Side effects:

A burning sensation and hyperemia of the conjunctiva, a short-term tingling sensation; damage to the corneal epithelial layer, keratitis and excoriation of the corneal surface, grand mal seizure, fainting, bradycardia.

Storage method:

At a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees. After opening, the drug is stored at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees and should be used within 28 days.

Package:

The cardboard box contains paper instructions and a 10 ml dropper bottle.
