Vitamin C 100 mg.

Properties:

Ascorbic acid is a vitamin, has a metabolic effect, is not formed in the human body, but comes only with food. With an unbalanced and inadequate diet, a person experiences a deficiency in ascorbic acid.

Participates in the regulation of oxidation-reduction processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting, tissue regeneration; increases the body’s resistance to infections, reduces vascular permeability, reduces the need for vitamins B 1 , B 2 , A, E, folic acid, pantothenic acid.

Indications:

Treatment and prevention of hypo- and avitaminosis C, including those caused by a state of increased need for ascorbic acid.

Directions for use and dosage:

For children over 3 years old: 10 drops 1 time per day after meals.

Contraindications:

  • long-term use in high doses: diabetes mellitus, hyperoxaluria, nephrolithiasis, hemochromatosis, thalassemia;
  • hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With caution: diabetes mellitus, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia, thalassemia, hyperoxaluria, oxalosis, urolithiasis.

Side effects:

From the digestive system: irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa.

From the endocrine system: suppression of the function of the insular apparatus of the pancreas (hyperglycemia, glycosuria).

Allergic reactions: skin rash, skin hyperemia.

Laboratory findings: thrombocytosis, hyperprothrombinemia, erythropenia, neutrophilic leukocytosis, hypokalemia.

Others: hypervitaminosis, metabolic disorders, sensation of heat, with prolonged use in high doses – sodium and fluid retention, zinc and copper metabolism disorders.
