Description
Trade name:
Deltavit B 12
Compound:
Each sublingual tablet contains:
Cyanocobalamin 1000 mcg.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, aspartame, magnesium stearate, sodium croscarmellose, talc, citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, colloidal silicon dioxide, Povidone K30.
Properties:
Vitamin B12 is essential to humans and is active primarily in two important enzyme systems. It is important for normal fatty acid metabolism and for normal cell division. Deficiency of methylcobalamin is also thought to be the cause of damage to the myelin sheath that surrounds nerve fibers in the central or peripheral nervous system, in the case of Vit B12 deficiency. Disruption of this system results in abnormal DNA metabolism with symptoms in organs with rapid cell division, such as bone marrow and mucous membranes. Experiments have shown that there is no methylating neurological damage.
Indications:
Hematological, neurological and other symptoms resulting from vitamin B12 deficiency. Impaired absorption of vitamin B 12 due to lack of intrinsic factor (pernicious anemia), ventricular resection or small bowel disease. In case of aminosalicylic acid therapy, which can cause impaired B12 resorption.
Method of administration and dosage:
1 tablet should be placed under the tongue until completely dissolved 1 time per day between meals, or as directed by a physician.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Precautions:
Pregnancy and lactation: There are no known risks when using the drug during pregnancy. Cyanocobalamin passes into breast milk, but at therapeutic doses, it has no effect on newborns/breastfed infants. Consult a doctor.
Drug interactions: The absorption of vitamin B12 from the gastrointestinal tract may be reduced by aminoglycosides, aminosalicylic acid, antiepileptic drugs, biguanides, chloramphenicol, cholestyramine, potassium inhibitors, methyldopa, and gastric acid (e.g., omeprazole and cimetidine). The clinical significance of many of these interactions is probably low.
Side effects:
Immune system: Rare – anaphylaxis, fever. Skin: Rare – urticaria, exanthema, rash, allergic reactions including skin reactions and angioedema.
Storage method:
Store at room temperature out of reach of children.
Package:
The cardboard box contains a plastic container containing 30 sublingual tablets and paper instructions.
