Description

Trade name:

Vental compositum

Compound:

Each dose contains:

Beclomethasone dipropionate 0.05 mg

Salbutamol sulfate 0.1205 mg, equivalent to pure salbutamol 0.1 mg.

Auxiliary components:

Anhydrous ethanol, oleic acid, propellant.

Properties:

A combination bronchodilator containing salbutamol and beclomethasone dipropionate (a corticosteroid active when used by inhalation).

Salbutamol is characterized by a fast and safe bronchodilator effect, leading to a rapid improvement in respiratory function. Salbutamol acts selectively on the bronchial muscles, without having any cardiovascular effects. In turn, beclomethasone dipropionate, due to a decrease in edema and hypersecretion in the bronchi, reduces their hyperreactivity, due to which the development of bronchospasm is gradually suppressed. Beclomethasone dipropionate acts at the level of the bronchial tree, without having systemic effects and without causing suppression of the adrenal function.

Indications:

Bronchial asthma, asthmatic bronchitis, chronic bronchitis and emphysema with an asthmatic component.

Method of administration and dosage:

Adults: 2 doses 4-6 times daily.

Children under 12 years: 1-2 times 2-4 times a day. The interval between doses should be at least 4 hours.

Contraindications:

Viral infections, pulmonary tuberculosis (active and inactive form) (due to the presence of beclomethasone dipropionate in the drug); childhood and adolescence under 18 years of age; pregnancy; breastfeeding period; hypersensitivity to any of the components of the combination.

Precautions:

It should be prescribed with caution to patients already taking systemic GCS; in patients with increased sensitivity to the effects of sympathomimetics (in coronary heart disease, ischemic cardiomyopathy, severe heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, including tachyarrhythmia, arterial hypertension, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, pheochromocytoma, diabetes mellitus and benign prostatic hyperplasia); in patients taking the drug for a long time, especially in high doses (the patient’s condition must be monitored to identify possible systemic effects).

Side effects:

Hoarseness, localized fungal infections of the mouth and throat, tremor, muscle cramps, psychomotor hyperactivity, sleep disturbances, tachycardia, hypersensitivity reactions, paradoxical bronchospasm, hypokalemia.
