Each 5 ml of syrup contains:

Thiemonium methyl sulfate 10 mg

Auxiliary components:

Sorbitol 70%, glycerol, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, citric acid, strawberry flavor, Ponceau dye, sucrose, purified water.

Properties:

Thiomonium methyl sulfate is a competitive antagonist of acetylcholine, histamine and enhances the binding of calcium to membrane phospholipids and proteins. It has an antispasmodic, anticholinergic and some muscle relaxant effect.

Thus, it inhibits the intracellular contractile protein of the visceral cell, which causes suppression of visceral spasm and pain.

Indications:

Symptomatic treatment of painful spasms caused by functional diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract.

Symptomatic treatment of painful spasms in gynecological diseases.

Symptomatic treatment of painful spasms of the urinary tract.

Method of administration and dosage:

Adults:

1-3 tablespoons 3 times a day.

Children over 6 months:

3 teaspoons for every 5 kg of the child’s weight per day.

Contraindications:

Individual intolerance to the components of the drug, including fructose, sucrose and sorbitol.

Glaucoma.

Children under 6 months.

Impaired urine flow, or the risk of developing acute urinary retention (in diseases of the prostate and bladder).

Precautions:

It is prescribed with caution in cases of esophageal hernias, reflux esophagitis, since thiemonium has an anticholinergic effect and can worsen the patient’s condition, renal and hepatic insufficiency, heart and thyroid diseases, chronic bronchitis, gastrointestinal diseases, bedridden patients and patients with low motor activity.

During pregnancy and lactation, the drug is used only as prescribed by a doctor.

Side effects:

Dry mouth, accommodation disorders, tachycardia, palpitations, constipation, urinary disorders, irritability, increased nervous excitability, mental disorders in elderly patients.
