Description
Tradename:
Dogmatil 50 mg
Compound:
Each tablet contains
Sulpiride 50 mg
Auxiliary components:
Lactose, methylcellulose, talc, magnesium stearate.
Properties:
An atypical antipsychotic from the group of substituted benzamides.
Sulpiride has moderate neuroleptic activity in combination with stimulating and thymoanaleptic (antidepressive) effects. The neuroleptic effect is associated with an antidopaminergic effect. In the central nervous system, sulpiride predominantly blocks dopaminergic receptors of the limbic system, and has a slight effect on the neostriatal system; it has an antipsychotic effect and causes a small number of side effects. The peripheral effect of sulpiride is based on inhibition of presynaptic receptors. An increase in the amount of dopamine in the central nervous system is associated with an improvement in mood, and a decrease is associated with the development of symptoms of depression.
Indications:
Neurotic states accompanied by lethargy; psychosomatic disorders, incl. for gastric and duodenal ulcers, UC; acute and chronic psychoses with a predominance of lethargy, agrammatism, abulia; acute and chronic psychoses, accompanied by delirium or confusion, incl. in schizophrenia.
Directions for use and dosage:

The maximum daily oral dose for adults is 1.6 g.

Pheochromocytoma, arterial hypertension, psychomotor agitation, increased sensitivity to sulpiride.
Precautionary measures:
Use with caution in patients with parkinsonism and the elderly. In severe renal failure, a dose reduction or intermittent course of treatment is recommended.
In patients with epilepsy, before starting therapy, it is necessary to conduct a preliminary clinical and electrophysiological examination, because sulpiride lowers the threshold for convulsive readiness.
In case of hyperthermia, which is one of the elements of NMS, sulpiride should be discontinued immediately.
During the treatment period, avoid drinking alcohol.
During pregnancy and lactation, use with caution and in minimal effective doses.
Use with caution in children.
