Tradename:
Betaserc
Compound:
Each tablet contains:
Betahistine dihydrochloride 24 mg
Auxiliary components:
microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, citric acid monohydrate, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc.
Properties:
Synthetic analogue of histamine. It acts like histamine, mainly at histamine H1 receptors. Causes expansion of precapillaries, in particular, facilitates microcirculation in the labyrinth. In addition, betahistine regulates endolymph pressure in the labyrinth and cochlea, which leads to clinical improvement in dizziness of various etiologies. Reduces the frequency and intensity of dizziness, reduces tinnitus, improves hearing in cases of hearing loss. Increases the tone of the smooth muscles of the bronchi and gastrointestinal tract. May cause increased secretion of gastric juice.
Indications:
Meniere’s syndrome, characterized by the following main symptoms:
– dizziness (accompanied by nausea, vomiting);
– hearing loss (hearing loss);
-noise in ears.
Symptomatic treatment of vestibular dizziness (vertigo).
Directions for use and dosage:
The drug is taken orally with meals. The dose should be adjusted individually depending on the response to treatment.
For adults, the dose is 48 mg/day.
Betaserc 24 mg should be taken 1 tablet 2 times a day. The tablet can be divided into 2 equal parts. To do this, place the tablet on a hard surface with the edge facing up and press it with your thumb.
Improvement is sometimes observed only after a few weeks of treatment, and a lasting therapeutic effect is observed after several months of treatment. There is evidence that administration of the drug at the onset of the disease prevents its progression and/or hearing loss in later stages.
